Is this by invitation only?

  1. Customers who have made a minimum purchase of $50 will receive an invitation to join via email and to schedule a free pick-up with us
  2. Each Seller may only consign up to 20 items in total (new & existing)

What are on-trend pieces?

We accept items that are on-trend as they have a higher sell-through rate. We will reject pieces that are out-of-date or are no longer current.

As a guide, on-trend pieces are likely to be items you have purchased in the last 3 years and are designs you are willing to wear them now.

Consignment checklist:

  1. Ensure items are in new or like-new condition
  2. Items must be from our list of preferred brands (for other brands, please drop us a message)
  3. Design must be ON-TREND

 

What is the Seller sign-up and cleaning-out process like?

  1. Sellers to read the guidelines of the consignment before booking for a free pickup (by invitation only)
  2. Seller packs at least 10 and a max of 20 items which are in EXCELLENT condition and schedules for pickup.
  3. Do note that we only accept items from our list of preferred brands
  4. For pickups, we will review the items and send you an email confirmation together with the recommended sale price within 30 working days. Terms of accepted items and reviewing process can be found in our FAQ.
  5. Accepted items will be listed for sale within 30 days after confirmation.
  6. Rejected items can be sent via courier (paid by Seller at a fee of S$10) within 30 days from the date of notification.
  7. A disposal fee of $0.50 per item will be deducted from sales for rejected items if we need to dispose or donate them on your behalf.
  8. Please ensure the items sent to us meet the selection criteria.

What are some of the accepted items?

  1. All items must be authentic from the respective brands. Only known and recognisable brands from our list of preferred brands are accepted. Certain high street brands that are generally of a lower quality will NO LONGER be accepted such as Temt/Valley Girl, Cotton On, Forever 21, H&M, Zalora, Shein, New Look, Primark and Boohoo.
  2. Luxury items with a retail price of $300 and above will not be accepted as we are unable to authenticate the item.
  3. We only accept women’s apparel for now but the list may expand in the future. Follow this space for updates.
  4. Sports apparel and activewear are now accepted such as Nike, Adidas, Lululemon, alo etc.
  5. Certain clothing items are not accepted such as:
    • Out-of-date designs
    • Used lingerie / intimates
    • Used swimwear
    • Basics such as plain tank tops/camisoles/t-shirts/work pants
    • Clothing with faux / PU leather
    • Skater dresses
    • Winter wear
    • Jeans, mini skirts/shorts due to the low sell-through rate
    • items that have a low resale value of < $10
  6. Please check the items to ensure that the items are in EXCELLENT condition and free from damages, stains, tears, are clean and odourless. Items have to be in excellent, like-new condition to be accepted. This is to increase sell-through rate for your items.
  7. Items that do not meet the above selection criteria will be rejected.
  8. A disposal fee of $0.50 per item will be deducted from sales for rejected items if we need to dispose or donate them on your behalf.

How is the list price of the item determined?

  1. Recommended list and sale prices will be sent to you for reference. We do not encourage the change of prices but if you have a minimum price, please reply to our email within 5 days from the date of the email. Second Other has the right to reject any items without reason.
  2. List prices are recommended based on a combination of brand, market rate, condition, style, original retail price, etc.
  3. We have a recommended Sale Price which offers a lower base price to promote sell-through from time to time.   
  4. If we do not receive any email from you, the recommended list price will automatically be published after 5 days from the date of the email. 
  5. Each item will be given a SKU for easy tracking on the site.

How much can I earn as a Seller?

Seller can get proceeds of between 25% – 75% of the final sale price. For the actual breakdown of the percentage of proceeds, please refer here

How do I get paid?

All sellers are required to provide a Paynow number upon onboarding for direct debiting. Sellers will be notified of sales on the last day of each month and sale proceeds will be debited on the 1st of the following month.

How long is the consignment period?

The consignment period is for the duration of 3 months. Once the consignment period is up, we will contact you via email about the unsold items. You will have the option for them to be sent to you (at a delivery fee of $10).

What happens after my consigned item is sold?

  1. Sellers will be informed via email when a sale transaction has occurred on the last day of the month.
  2. Cash payout based on the respective percentage of sale will be transferred to your designated PayNow account on the 1st business day of the following month of the sale transaction.

Can I get my consigned items back if they haven't been sold?

  1. Published items that have yet to be sold for a minimum of 3 months from the listed date can be requested for returns via email at sell@secondother.com.
  2. Items will be packed and ready for returns within 7 working days.
  3. A confirmation email will be sent to the Seller when the items are ready for delivery via courier (at Seller’s cost of $10). No self-collection is available.
  4. The courier fee will be deducted from the cash payouts (if sufficient) else advance payment of $10 via PayNow is required for the courier fee.
  5. Once the payment is made for courier delivery, reply to the return request email with your transaction number or a screenshot of your PayNow transfer.
  6. We will acknowledge the payment received and sent you a confirmation email on the delivery.
  7. Do note that no part of our images or content may be used or replicated for use without prior written consent from us.
  8. Second Other will not be liable for any damages for the items consigned with us.

What happens to the rejected items?

  1. Items that do not pass the fashion curation will be rejected.
  2. Sellers will be informed via email of the rejected items and will have the following options:
    • Courier delivery (at Seller’s cost of $10)
    • Donation/Disposal
  3. A disposal fee of $0.50 per item will be deducted from sales for rejected items if we need to dispose or donate them on your behalf.
  4. Once the payment is made for courier delivery via PayNow, reply to the return request email with your transaction number or a screenshot of your PayNow transfer.
  5. We will acknowledge the payment received and sent you a confirmation email on the delivery.
  6. Donation/Disposal
    • For items that are still in wearable condition, items will be sent to charities.
    • Items will be disposed if item is not considered to be wearable / sellable.
    • Rejected items that are not collected within 30 days from the date of email notification will be donated to charity or disposed.
    • There will be no proof of donation/disposal.

Why is there a disposal fee for rejected items?

  1. Items that do not pass the fashion curation will be rejected.
  2. A disposal fee of $0.50 per items will be charged for rejected items as there are third party cost incurred by us to pick up the items and man-hour cost to process these items.
  3. While there are no upfront cost to you as a Seller, we do incur cost for every bad item we receive. As a small sustainable business, we do need your support in order for us to keep doing what we do.
  4. We would seek your understanding to ensure that the items you send to us are of excellent condition and has a decent resale value.

Can I still be a Seller if I am not a Customer?

Yes. While we prioritise our seller slots to customers, we do open up seller slots to non-customers as well. You will need to sign up on our waitlist and we will contact you once we have a slot.

If you have previously signed up with us, you are on our waitlist and we are trying our best to serve you as soon as possible.

Due to the efforts that we dedicate to each item, we are limited in terms of resources for now but for every item that we do, we make the best efforts to find a match between buyer and seller.
